HAHAHAHAHA...it's time we came up with something other than the same ol' love rantings: "ma timilai mann parauchu", "malai maya lagcha", "timi kati ramri" or "kina chhodera gayeu" , " nisthuri maya" , " samjhi baschu" yadi yadi yada .....hahaha...why do these people working in the nepali music industry can't think of anything other than maya priti and samjhana ra bicchod????hahaha...cracks me up sometimes... and most of these so called new budding singers--some of which are really good hai ani I am not really talking about Anil Singh coz I think he is quite talented than most of these new 'dhobi' singers-- have same one monotonous style of signing--no variation at all?...hahaha..talking of monotonicity, even the great guns with the likes of Nabin Bhattarai or Ramkrihna don't come up with too many subtle variations now do they? jeez, at this rate, seems like i myself might release one solo album one of these days hahaha...the title of which will be: 'Maya and Prem--An endless rantings of love' HAHAHAHAHA

'Maya and Prem--An endless rantings of love'
hahahahaa Loote, and it's all good if you know a few peeps at Wave too who will review your album above and print out your bio/profile (hyping your new album to the next constellation) and furthermore, give you the coveted 5 star rating that you need ala 1974AD when they first came out. These cats were talented but c'mon without the continuous pimping by Hits FM 100 (back then) and the connections the business-men in the band had with the media, they never would've been the breakout that they ultimately became. It's all marketing and the package is ALL that sells the product even if its crumbs inside.
BTW, the last I went back to Nepal and attended one of the parties organized by a well-connected and happening cat, it was a damn joke as to how far the peeps back home think of themselves. All the girls I talked to told me they were models and all the guys I met were singers (probably aspiring models and singers but highly think of themselves as the real deal)...The icing on da cake: I'd never even heard of these foolios and I considered myself to be quite active in the Ktm back in "my" days! LMAFO hahahahahhaha

flip-flop, Ram Krishna Dhakal kya...hyped as the next Narayan Gopal by the Nepali media some years back. I'd say the same is true for that guy too: All hype and no substance.

Flips, good to see you. i did not compare 'ramkrihna'( haha... 's' went to take his dinner :P) with new artists. but as Samsara said, even he is not as good as the hype the media once gave him about he being the next Narayan Gopal haha... Samsara, LOL! yeah i know. some of the folks who used to run without undies in
my neighborhood back in the good old days when they were kids are now
models and singers hahaha..i mean i could myself share some glory of
their "celebrity life" (according to them) and it would have been all
good for me, if they were good enough for a decent overhaul in the
business. but the sad thing is, and i am not sure if they are aware of
their own limitations, they're there for a year or two merely to blow their own
trumpet and the reality of uncle life will hit on them. hahaha....
what bothers me sometimes is that there used to be quite a few talented
folks back in our school days who did not get any opportunity
whatsoever for some exposure. there was this guy in my batch,
originally from Darjeeling, who used to sing REALLY good. he used to
write his own songs and compose them at a tender age and trust me he
was good. if there was enough scope for a newbie like him back in those
days, looking at the success of some of these mediocre singers, i am sure he would have been cashing on his talent big time within a
year or two. Too bad the scope and appeal the field had in
those days was so limited, he didn't even bother to give a shot in Radio Nepal
notwithstanding our suggestions, but instead chose to live a secluded
life (artist wise) away from the country. And now when there is a
decent scope, we have a model and a singer in every other household
hahaha.. A real sorry state of the nation to be honest.
Having said that, I think it's still good for budding talents (if they
are good enough), for now they have at least a place to struggle and prove their worths. Just like politics, the music industry is also going
through transient phase and until a real singer is born in between, we
will have to intermittently bear with these 'dhobis' and their never
ending rants of their own love saga hahaha
back to jack johnson for now
