ANA Youth Forum 2007: “Nepal Ko Pul”
… with a creative eye towards the solution
Vision

Nepal is undergoing some interesting times. There is a rampant need for new ideas, energy and leadership. Youth have the vigor to stir this positive wind. Let’s think through ways to build a bridge between North Americas and Nepal. Let’s pave way for a healthy, long-lasting, contributive ambience, whether we choose to stay here or move to Nepal.

Process

1) Two luminaries begin the forum at an energetic and encouraging note. (2*10 minutes)
2) 9 discussion tables to analyze concurrently. (40 minutes)
a) Education
b) High-Tech/IT
c) Physical Infrastructure
d) Travel/Tourism
e) Healthcare
f) Finance
g) Law
h) Economic Development
i) Art

Each table will discuss:
a) Why is it important to build this bridge?
b) What are some issues in building it?
c) What are some potential solutions?
d) What can I do about it?

3) Each table to summarize their findings (9*3 minutes)

4) 100 or more audience members and the Youth Forum Discussion Leaders/Keynote Speakers

Product

a) To highlight major issues and discuss them
b) To find some reasonable solutions
c) To come up with some exciting future projects
d) To form a core group to take up some of these projects

Conclusively,

Come Together, Initiate Change! A New Nepal is Possible!

PS: The ANA Youth Forum last year translated into 'NRN Youth Forum' agendas. And today, we are already on our way to realizing one of our key programs: the NRN Internship Program, whereby Nepali students studying abroad can go to Nepal for summer internships. We are certain this year's youth forum on "Nepal Ko Pul" will be similarly progressive.
