Can someone working as a (in?) Devops explain what it is about? Seems like there are mulitple fields within Devops. What are the basic skillset(s) required in this field? How long would training take for someone pretty good with computers but with only basic level coding experience? (Just to clarify, I was an information systems major but starting working in finance after college)

Also do you know of any consultancies with a history of placement?

I'm trying to get some general information here. Hoping you guys will help me out with answers.

Just get this: all you need is some coding skills. No different fields. If you are good with bash, then you are good for a starter.
