Planning to travel to Nepal using Cathay pacific and dragon fly from hong kong. Just came to know that even during the transit while staying inside the airport as well, Nepalese (with Nepali passport) has to have a transit visa of Hong Kong?
Plz suggest if I am understanding it correctly.
How can I apply for Hong Kong visa while I am here in Los Angeles?
Thank you for your suggestion

You won't need a transit visa while flying on Cathay Pacific. You'll only need it if you're planning on leaving the airport.

What "clarification" do you seek? Cathay Pacific has an agreement with HKG airport that allows Nepali nationals to travel through HKG airport without needing a transit visa. I've traveled on Cathay Pacific twice and personally know quite a lot of people who've done the same.

Deepocean mitra, I am also travelling by Cathay in November 2015 and I have transit of 10 hrs on my return trip. I called Cathay customer service and they said no transit visa is required if travelling by Cathay.

thanks everyone for the reliable information. I did reach out to Customer Service of Cathay Pacific and has been told that if transit period doesn't exceed 12 hrs no transit visa is required.

Do not overthink , if transit visa required they route you to correct location, hotel with breakfast also provided, if more than 10+ hrs transit that's the international protocol, may not implement in advance country where passenger more likely disappear eg US, Hongkong, europe etc.
