One of my friends has been studying in Japan for a year and is interested in coming to the US to complete her studies. How much easier or difficult is it to apply and get an F1 visa from a US embassy in Japan compared to the US embassy in Kathmandu? Her primary concern is that she wants to be able to continue her studies in Japan just in case she is denied the F1 visa.

Wouldnt hurt trying. There are many friend of mine who went from usa to canada or australia to usa or usa to australia. Why do you think your Japanese visa be affected if the visa is denied at us embassy?

Thanks maxpayne. I was just wondering whether it would show the intent not to continue studies in Japan if you apply for a visa to come and study in the US say in the middle of your school term in Japan.
