spideylgp Yeah...it is very clear that one might get fairly reasonable treatment AFTER an arrest and we all know that. I'm not talking about what happens AFTER someone is arrested by a law enforcement agency. I'm talking if violence, terror or intimidation is ever used or not IN THE PROCESS of an arrest of any individual who is NOT voluntairily submitting to an arrest regardless of the fact that someone is treated fairly after the arrest. Violence, terror and intimidation is used to any suspect who is resisting arrest. I'm NOT asking to justify the use of violence, terror and intimidation. I'm simply acknowleding the fact that violence, terror and intimidation is used no matter if it a legit or non-legit purposes. Same applies to the armed forces as well. Violence, terror and intimidation is applied to an opponent which refuses to yield.

Hello, THOPA Without pollution, there is no solution. read the nepalese history. Who are terrorist and who are rebel .you will have hard time to figure out. Who polluted country for what solution and at times who considered terrorist and who considered rebels. .... its not like you imagined........... Thing changes dynamically in the world, its not everything for constant. The saha vansha in nepal came did their job, rana came did their job. During the times, we had little changes not like western country. Now the need of time is socialism ,and maoist revolution is for that. (Rakta kranti ko jwalamukhi) has rested now for the new nepal, and in this period, opportunistic rises and put bad impression to the system, still we gotta keep hope of something good astu

Jai_Nepal wrote, "Police and armed forces are terrorists? Do they bomb cities and kill innocent lives? Do they obstruct the development projects? Do they loot banks? Do they create blockades? Do they kidnap children and teachers?" Former dictator of Chile, General Augusto Pinochet's police and miltary were doing axactly the same stuffs that you have mentioned above except the fact that Pinochet did not loot banks (because he didnt have to. When the nation was under his seize so were the banks and the treasury). No one knows exactly how many people were killed or raped or kidnapped during the rein of the terror, intimidiation and violence carried out by his police and his military. Here is an exert from Wikipedia, "..... Pinochet implemented a series of security operations, with support from the United States and other South American military governments, in which (according to the Rettig Report) around 3,000 suspected or known dissidents and leftists were killed, and (according to the Valech Report) around 30,000 more were tortured......."

The cases becomes even worse in the case of Central Ameican nation of Guatemala. The govt police and miltary of Guatemale bombed entire villages of indigenous Maya people. In one of those cases, 133 indigenous Maya people from the same village were first killed and burried in the same mass grave.

It would have been better off if maobadi would have swept the nation's capital and took control of the whole country just like cuban revolution. When you set out for a revolution you take care of the business first ..you don't compromise....that's the half a** job, now what we will see is more factions and tiny problems which will take generations to solve it. There is no firm authority in Nepal, now everybody can pretty much do whatever they feel like without anybody looking over your shoulders. There could be another coup in the future either by Army or a foreign elements.

I DID NOT come here to justify the actions of any warring parties. I'm here ONLY TO ACKNOWLEDGE the fact that it is enough to fit or define any side or a party as 'terrorist' * when such means were used no matter they belong to government or an opposition * and no matter what the justifications might be for using such means.

So the question remains....What defines someone or an organization as terrorist ? Is there any universally accepted norm for defining such ?

thopa Probably you misunderstood what I meant by doing the "right" thing here. We are Khaobaadis not Maobaadis..it's NOT our business to blow up projects built by foreign aid in Nepal...Maobaadis do those stuffs.... We as Khaobaadis are talking about taking care of the foreign aid money that may get into the "wrong hands".
