from http://www.nepalmonitor.com/newslook/2006/12/only_in_nepal_many_maoists_are.html Only in Nepal: Many Maoists are Christians Who says Maoists are atheists? New Delhi’s Nepali Maoists’ locales have become a hotbed of Christian activities, comments Sandhya Jain in the Daily Pioneer newspaper. She adds: "While second-in-command Baburam Bhattarai and his family are openly Christian, Prachanda does not proclaim his religious affiliations but his wife's entire family is Christian. His guru, Chandra Pradesh Gajurel, was a Christian preacher. Sources estimate that the 42,000-strong Maoist army would be 30 per cent Christian, but the cadre are kept in the dark that the top leadership is predominantly Christian." The question is, how did Nepal's news media miss this undoutedly a big story?

Neutralize Prachanda and Bsaburam that want to convert Nepal into a Christian republic as the soonest. Nepal should not be secular. It should always be a Hindu Kindom. Say Jai Nepal , not Destroy Nepal Paburam and Prachanda.

Hinduism is out of date and dying religion. People are free to choose multiple choices among other relogions according to the new constitution . So let them choose what they want. I am just against forcing people to accept one particular religion like many christians in Nepal are doing now. .

Are Baburam and Prachanda Christian? So what? Let them choose their own religion. Nobody has the right to force them to adopt this or that religion. Dear friends, religion is entirely a personal thing. I feel sick, when I read people arguing that Nepal should remain a Hindu country. Religion must be separated from the state structure. Nepal should be a secular state. Its upto individual person to make a decision about his/her religion. Please, don't try to impose your religious idealogy on others.

Hindu and budhist religion has given so much for welfare of humanity: Yoga, Vedic astrology, Ayurveda, kama sutra, nirvana, meditation and vedas full of wisdom. Its so rich. What has Christianity and Islam done for humanity: except homosexuality, child molesters, supression, war and suffering ?

I agree with IMI, every religion isn't perfect. But having said that remember Nepal isn't only of hindus, Don't have still that bahun mentality.Nepal is Multireligion country but hindu majority , king gayo saab thok gayo. It was KING who has always given that picture Nepal means Hinduism, not any more.

What makes me sad is Nepalese people linking Hinduism and KING!!!! Hinduism was before King .Yes , Hinduism gives importance to king .Why? remember when hinduism started - how hinduism was advertised during that age. BUT Does Hinduism only focuses on King??? It has much more to give.Don't make it a politics out of it. King is required or not , this debate can be well defended without dragging hindusim in it!!!!

Manish321: Look at history and culture of Nepal. It is not only shah kings from Lichabie and Malla kings. now what you show to tourists saying: this is our heritage. Is made possible by these hindu kings. You forget this ..very short memory.Don't just talk in terms of revenge only. Sayami: i don't consider you as maoist. There are very few really maoist in sajah hahaha. and i can name them if you want ..hahaha..I am not bahun and i am not fundamentalist hindu. What i want people to see Hinduism is in different angle ..man explore hinduism ..open your mind..you will be fasinated by the amount of knowledge it has in every aspect of your life .from A- atmosphere to Z- zen.
