King is bad: terribly bad, but certainly not the worst.... It's the king's grave mistakes that have overshadowed some of the worst people and their unpardonable sins at the moment. If you come to think of it, there are a lot of wolves in sheeps' clothings who are as bad as king, if not worse.

well i kindda didn't like this topic while something else is happenning.. but i couldn't ignore the subject as it affected my comming to us a lil bit... freaking thing made me walk all the way from jawlakhel to freakin kingsway and to the embassy for the passport... and then, it didn't stop till the 2nd jan 01 and i had to call a cab from thamel to go to airport and driver charged me 350 for that.. how monopoly everything is.. corrupted kingdom is what i'd like to call...

and All you folks blaming nepalese people on vandalizing properties, well thats what you get outta crowd... crowd it always trouble.. u know that.. and azn, u should think again if its just nepalese cause i remember back in mid 90's i think when AXL Rose decided to not sing cause of his messed up throat after metallica did theirs those fans almost destroyed the city... think it was in vancouver??

all we see is nepalese people ... cause we dont' care what else is goin on... if u watch enough news nepal wouldn't come too close to what everyones talkin about... We don't really destroy the stores and stuffs.. our people just charge the cops or army or whoever the barrier becomes... thats the beauty of it... unlike lot of other countries.. even new orleans.. people are freakin suffering from katrina and these people are busy taking stuffs from wal-mart.. i even saw some black lady cop taking stuffs on a cart... some dudes were taking TVs when there was not even light.. thas a whole different story..

The Nepali people do destroy stores and go protesting, becoming violence just because they're not satisfied and they think they'd make a difference doing that. They dont do that for survival, they do it for their satisfaction, they indeed take others' and their own lives.

"people are freakin suffering from katrina and these people are busy taking stuffs from wal-mart.. i even saw some black lady cop taking stuffs on a cart... some dudes were taking TVs when there was not even light.. thas a whole different story"

^That IS a whole different story when katrina was a big problem, why did you bring it up anyway? but still that time, this black guy was taking stuff, that even food, to survive and also the store was already destroyed anyway. Any hungry one would do it, I guess.

I am little bit disappointed with the response by John_Galt, sajha celebrity writer/story teller and someone whom I personally admire, though he has every rights to express his mind and to interpret the protester and their present movement for Loktantra as well as the drive by MAHA and others to collect fund for the injured who can not afford treatment.

First of all, the present movement is not Netaj’s movement, it is people movement, this is my movement, this is your movement, and this is our movement. And this movement has already achieved huge support from Nepalese inside and outside of Nepal as well as from international communities. It has calumniated greater heights and has reached a “pre-revolutionary state” as acknowledged by American Ambassador to Nepal on his recent interview to CNN.

You can not give benefit of doubt to Gayne assuming that this is a “political stunt” and “The metamorphosis is same, we have witnessed it before”.

For example, the power of ballot has been shown in Indian state of Bihar where history was made, Laloo raj has been ended. And this was made possible with the implementation of electronic voting. We can learn from them to exercise our competitive multi-party politics. We don’t need autocratic king to tell us how to exercise democracy.

May be you were disappointed with the corruption, lack of effective governance, nepotism and favoritism during last 10-12 years of party politics. But this is not specific to Nepalese leaders, this is rampant among Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Korean and more over American and European governments too. Former Indian PM Narshima Rao has served jail sentence, Banijir and Nawaj Sarif were jaliled for the charge of corruption. Rajeev Gandhi was accused off for corruption in Boffors scandal in India. They have corrupt PMs even after 40-50 years of experience with the democracy. In the process, they have developed mechanism and ways with in the framework of constitution to punish even (ex) PMs. And our politicians have learned from that and they have passed bills in the parliament to strengthen “Akthiyaar”. This was very positive move. Well, you may argue was it sufficient and effective, I would say it may not be but things were moving in the positive directions and this is possible only in multiparty democracy.

What I mean by all this is that there are several ways to correct party politics and punish corrupt and inept leaders through election within party and elections at local and National level making strong and independent regulatory bodies like “Akthiyaar”. Certainly, this is not quick fix thing, especially in the context of Nepal.

“This is a political stunt which pays off well again.....the deceased in Kalanki (may he rest in peace, but that was his call) will soon be forgotten by madhav Nepal and Girija Koirala just like we forgot Pamfa devi and Lauda air issues.”

“The metamorphosis is same, we have witnessed it before, and I feel no pain or guilt or happiness in what is happening at the moment, we are repeating history again, this is all so much in the norm.”

In a serious note, you may not and can not remain nonchalance or more precisely ignorant to those who were and are being killed and injured in the present movement by saying that “that was his/their call”. To me it sounds like a bit of insensitive remarks to this and other martyrs. I don’t think they went there to be killed, I think, they were there to get their fundamental rights, the “Loktantra”, rights to govern by themselves.

Also, I am surprised to hear from you that you don’t feel pain when protesters are being killed and permanently disabled (those who survive the injuries) by indiscriminate firing from the automatic rifles with live ammunition. I am quite sure that you are aware of the measures that security officers have to take to restrain unruly but unarmed-protesters. How can you justify the use of Insas and M-15 riffles to indiscriminately fire on protesters? They are not Maoists.

Anyway, these are my very personal views on your remarks, hope you would not get offended by my comments.

Being a Nepali John_galt can have a little mercy on those innocent Nepali who die for loktantra. i think mr galt your nepali heart was not writing, only your name(john_galt) was speaking in your expression. I have a question for u. suppose one Nepali was doing something wrong and he die. Does your soul feel some mercy on him? Or not may be not because you don’t care huh...that was his call hoina???? Whoever he is Nepali American black white maobadi...when they die I have a mercy in him/her. i have seen so many 2 tongue person. Frequently changing their voice. Whom do u support...autocracy or democracy. If democracy what was that killed people supporting for and why was he killed. Do u ever try to analyze it. Do u want to stay under autocratic leader mr John_galt? Do u wanna do what ever they order. Of course not. I don’t wanna hold back your views and expression

We are not knowing the true nature of news. All the news seems to be contrasting and are manipulated.

From seven parties we are hearing this is a SHANTIPURNA andolan. But what i see on television is anything but shantipurna. I saw people burning cars, breaking shops , setting fires. there are people in the protest who are in shatipurna andolan like lawyers , doctors.

But i dont know what is wrong with these few peoples. It seems these people are having fun. Whenever they see police they entice them to violence. they throw stones, burn tyres. When i was in pulchowk , few of the students from outside using the wall of our campus as a boundary started throwing stones when there was protest outside in the road. This resulted in the voilence and throwing up stones. It is really these handful of people who ignites this violence. And these peoples are nobody but so called student netas in different campuses.

It is these few people who ignites them. Most of them are from parties. Most of the intellectuals like engineers, lawyers etc are in non violent protest.Police comes and takes them in the truck to jail. But it still is a comparitively non violent way. I am not justifying the police action but i feel if one group can beocome more calm and sedate this kind of violence can be avoided. The voice can be heard even in Shantipurna way across the world.
