Yupp I been telling them reach out to Republicans instead of going over and over to the same NY Democrats lawmakers . Told them to set up meet with Javanka. But they wanted to push for extreme leftist bill which won’t be anywhere near Mitch Moscow Senate .
But kudos to Democrats who sponsored the bill and tied this with the Defense Bill!

Reed Includes NDAA Provision to Extend Permanent Residency Status for Eligible Liberians and Open a Pathway to U.S. Citizenship
Reed Includes NDAA Provision to Extend Permanent Residency Status for Eligible Liberians and Open a Pathway to U.S. Citizensh

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI), the Ranking Member of the Armed Services Committee, included a major victory for the Liberian community in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 that will extend legal status for thousands of Liberians.

Senator Reed included a provision in the NDAA backed by Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) and the rest of the Rhode Island delegation, to allow eligible Liberians in the U.S. currently on the temporary immigration status of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) to continue living legally in the U.S. and get on a pathway to earning U.S. citizenship.  In order to be eligible to apply for permanent residency under the law, applicants must have been living in the U.S. continuously since November 20, 2014, not been absent for more than 180 days in aggregate, and be otherwise eligible and admissible for permanent residence.

The NDAA provision was based on S. 456, the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act, which Senator Reed introduced in the U.S. Senate.  Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) introduced companion legislation (H.R.1169) in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The legislation is estimated to impact about 4,000 Liberians who have been legally living in the United States.

“After decades of uncertainty, this is a huge win for my Liberian brothers and sisters and a great day for America.  This provision will adjust the status of Liberians on DED and those formerly on TPS to enable them to apply for permanent residency.  Liberians who’ve legally lived here for years, paid taxes, and made so many positive contributions to their various communities, especially in Rhode Island, deserve the opportunity to get on a path to becoming full citizens.  Everything they have in America they’ve earned through hard work and hard work should be rewarded,” said Senator Reed.  “Theseip

Reed’s provision would allow eligible Liberians in the U.S. currently on the temporary immigration status of Deferred Enforced Status (DED) to apply for permanent residency and offer a pathway to citizenship

@pepsi,

Nepal and the other five countries case is still pending at court.

And you know Nepal TPS is extended till January 4th, 2021.

And even Nepal win case in court, no one will get Green card or path to citizenship.

This POST by this Sexy in sari, whoever illiterate this MF is, is so misleading and laughable. You need to do a lil bit of your homework buddy, do some research before you post such bogus and unverified claim. FYI, Liberia's TPS along with Guinea and Sierra Leone was terminated in 2017 for good. Liberia now is only on DED which has also sued the current administration over the administration's decision to end the program. This generosity for mere 4,000 Liberians by this prejudiced administration is nothing but a political stunt to get Black votes in 2020 election. If this was not for Democrats, TPS and DACA would have long been silenced. You remember TPS termination, don't you? You very well know who did, don't you? And who came for your rescue? Democrats! Right??? Please don't forget, Democrat controlled House, passed Dream and Promise Act, unanimously. We are just couple of hurdles away from path to citizenship. Pray for Democrats to win more Senate seats and Office of Presidency in 2020 election and you will see where we will be at. Do yourself a kind favor by deleting such unsubstantiated and FAKE POST!

Also remember that Democrat Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island was the one who was able to sneak this into the bill and tRump may not be aware or Stephen Miller must be masturbating while this was signed. There were only 4000 Liberians so tRump admin didnt think twice before signing it. But the point is Dems need to win this 2020 big and bold in order for TPS and other 11 millions undocumented to have a shot at perm residency. 2020 will decide where this country is heading not only in terms of immigration but also with everything .

Biden/Buttigieg Ticket is the only ticket that can beat Trump given Biden dont do major gaffes. Or Trump reelected landslide electoral vote despite losing popular vote.
