Coming back in sajha after a long break and surprised to see finally there is some change. It had been stale for too long. I think all websites need to do some redesign every few years just to remain fresh. Sajha used to look like ratna park and now it is looking more like bishal bajaar. The inside pages have not been changed yet, it's high time the inside pages got an overhaul too.

Watching careful these days, the traffic seems very slow here. I barely see any responses on threads, no movement. I think social media is taking away all the traffic, esp facebook. Sajha needs to come up with newer ideas, not just redesign. Admin ji, please think about it.

Whenever I visit sajha.com I feel like I am in middle of Time square New york where I can see all the advertisements billboards scrolling all over the place and flashing all over the place as if it will destroy your eye's retina. I feel like admin wanted to tell us "Here are all the contents you want and just figure out yourself what you want". Once my team's UI designer stopped by desk asked me what the eff I am browsing and I said it's very popular site in US for nepalese. His reply was "I will quit my job if I am asked by my boss to redesign this site because it will be like rebuilding the site" :).

Yes, no offence but one time my co-worker saw the site I was surfing and got the reply that it's the ugliest site she's ever seen and told her the same thing.. it's one of the popular site for Nepalese living abroad, and then she changed her tone and was like 'oh, it's good to know.'. Aaafu lai ta baalai bho, I got to meet my nepalese brosis who cares about the design and stuffs..
But I would still want to see the outlook to html5 standard , possibly with responsive design, not just the mobile(text) version of the site. It has some hiccups but in next 5 years, XP will be dead and all internet browsers will be the newest ones supporting latest standards. Just my few words.

Thank you for your comments on the redesign. Some redesign have been long overdue to organize the content better. In this round of changes, we have focussed on little better organization of space, and laying the foundation for the blogging engine which you now see as ne0's Corner. This will become the blogging spot for each member and depending upon a popularity algorithm, the popular blogs will be displayed in the home page as well as a system is in the making to reward popular bloggers every month!
Change is always exciting to some extent and gradual changes to the system will be something to look forward to as we prepare to meet and greet the New Year 2014!
Thank you everyone for your precious time and comments, and we look forward to seeing more of you in the days to come!

The new design is better than before where everything looked haphazard. I agree with vhootee that sajha needs to come up with some original ideas.

I am a big fan of Sajha and have been visiting this site regularly since the GBNC days but I am disappointed on this new design. The Kurakani section (which I believe is the main section of sajha) has shrunk so much that you need a magnifying glass to find it. I can understand the important of advertisement revenue and in many ways advertisement itself helps the community but this is just ridiculous. This new sajha feels like a Nepali craigslist site except all the ads are same.

San ji I think the layout is fine, much better than the old one. Come on everybody, San is doing a business and the only way of revenue is ads. So deal with it. It is obvious, everybody is worried about the looks, which as San says he's working on it. I personally could care less as long as it has something to come back again and again.
Some suggestions: How about better upload picture sections. We have/had one but it was so primitive. I understand it will be a huge storage issue, but you can compress each of them and also set a limit on how many they can upload. I think in this day of facebook, letting people upload pictures is a must. If we can view profiles and their upload pictures, that will be a good start.
If you are working on that blog thing, it is a great idea too.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. Jonny it's good to know you have been in sajha for all this time! Thanks for being part of the whole journey!
As far as the Kurakani section, I have tried to keep it as it is for the longest time and even now it's still in same place and holds the most prominent position as before. Last night, I realized that Internet Explorer was squising down the size of that column for some reason and I have fixed that issue. Please let me know if you still see it squished up.
Vhootee, image upload is an important part and I will be working on that area soon.
Please feel free to jot down some of your thoughts in here. Happy Holidays!
PS: Please visit ne0's Corner if you haven't checked it out already!

In continuation of the redesign, I have made some changes to the way the kurakani is displayed in homepage. This is to provide importance to the active users who create the threads because these are the users who sets sajha apart from other websites, where users generally only consume information and do not participate proactively.
In order to provide some kind of identity, it would be nice if users could post a profile image, which does not have to be personal in nature. It could be a picture of a car or anything so that when threads are displayed in homepage, there is some identifying image shown.
At the TOP LEFT of your sajha homepage, you should see a mail icon that says you got mail, if you haven't uploaded an image yet. You can click that button and select an image to upload.
Thanks again for your patience and as always please feel free to give feedback!
