Hi guys.I have been driving this old car for about a month now without insurance. It looks as if its gonna break down any time soon..really high mileage..so high that I just don't feel like posting it here. Anyways, just wondering what happens if I get pulled over? Do they ask for registration and licnese or insurance as well. I know its kind of weird driving without insurance..still just wondering what would happen if I am pulled over. Any one with the same experience or idea?

dude, driving without auto insurance is freaking risky. of course, you have to show registration and insurance proof when/if you are pulled over. the penalty for driving without insurance varies from state to
state. in some states, your vehicle tag can be seized and your car
impounded. in addition, some states impose heavy fines for those who
drive without auto insurance. limited sates fine a fee of $150 to $500
for driving without insurance. check for your state.
the consequences can be far more
serious if you are involved in an accident and do not have insurance. you may have to comply with the financial responsibility laws including having to pay for any injuries or damages out of
your own pocket. so be ready to smoke out plenty of $$$ from your pocket to the authorities or else get it insured today!

i just found out that the state illinois has a new law that now makes driving without insurance a felony! and there are some states in which they will suspend your license and registration or give you jail time.

It will lead you to great problems. Driving without insurance is a 3rd degree misdemeanor. First your car could be impounded, and some points towards your license, and the worst would be an arrest. But if you get in an accident your license will be suspended, with arrest. So the best thing to do is to buy a insurance with the minimal coverage or to ride the bus.
