Dhupandra Thapa, 22, from Morang district, who had gone to Qatar three years ago for work, hung himself to death inside his rented room on June 23, the Nepalese embassy in Doha reported recently.

According to Peninsula daily, Thapa, who could not express his love to an American girl, decided to kill himself and put an end to the love story that made his life unbearable.

He was working with a private company which had sent him to work in the US base there where he saw the American girl and immediately fell in deep love with her.

The deceased Thapa had left two letters in his room, one in the name of the American girl. As Thapa's friends nearby handed over the letter to the concerned girl, she laughed at the tragic story.

Report said Thapa decided to hang himself upon knowing that the girl is returning from Qatar , since she was there for a short trip only.

"Although he had strong feeling towards her, he could not pluck the courage to tell her about it" his friend told the Embassy.

"He admitted to us his feelings and said that he was very confused and unstable ever since the first moment he saw her and could not stop thinking about her" he added.

In the second letter Thapa mentioned names of his Nepali friends in Doha and has asked them to send QR 3,750 to his elder brother back home.

Thapa's body will be flown to Nepal on Friday after all necessary procedures.

I'm sure that there was a REASON why he went to Qatar- the reason being earning some invaluable cash to support his family back home but just read through the plot of the incident....as it happened, if someone were to make a movie out of it, it'd be a major flop. I'm trying to play the devil's advocate in here..you lot decide whether it was a cheap way of committing suicide or not. I feel sorry for his family who must've had great hopes on him but I don't feel sorry for him. Was he betrayed? Was he cheated on? Even if so- that shouldn't prompt anyone to commit suicide!
