Balbhadra, Your insights are unanimous. I appreciate your views. I've also mentioned that not all DV winners exhibit this sort of demanor. But its the case with most of such people........Afno dharatal birsinchan manche haru.........DV paryo bhaneko sansar payeko jasto garchan....... They boast among us....... they boast among hard working students ........ It doesn't sound good, does it? Anyway, I don't have animosity with DV winners.........I don't care....... I believe we should strive for our betterment. At the same time, DV guys should take this as a lesson. They shouldn't be pretentious........Dhak dhakku, rawaf.....they shouldn't show these things in front of other Nepali guys, esp. F-1 students.......... Thanks for ur comments.......

baba kina ho yesto dv parne haru ko khetro khaneka chhan yaar. i dont know about anybody else but i do sense a little bit of jealousy among this f1 stuents who may feel like they DESERVE the green card more than most of the people that come with DV lottery. well, too bad for u brownsugar guess what u didnot win the lottery and please dont come back and tell me that u never applied for dv. lottery bhaneko yestai ho aanfulai pare ramro arka lai pare khattam. in terms of where people work and stuff, i have seen tons of f1 students who work at worse places or who dont work at all. that is none of my business, but to lump dv winners as khate is a little pathetic. brown sugar should go back to his own thread and read it again and realize that posting that thread makes him a khate and nobody else.

Kalam, What happened to u? Ghat paryo jasto cha ni ........ You don't know the meaning of P.S. ? You better read the first message of this post. I believe in success through hard work. I'm striving for my work.....I do my job sincerely...I'm trying my best and not worrying about the result........I applied for DV too... but my intentions are not like most of other DV guys......... You can apply for a FAFSA, other scholarships for completing your graduate studies......u can get many benefits.......but the bottom line is ..... why aren't most of DV guys utilizing this opportunity? I personally believe that the primary goal of every individual should be attainment of highest education level...................... I don't care what others do, how they live ......... But this is my suggestion to all: Be modest......don't try to show off.....act naturally...That's it

Brownsugar when I read your first comment I felt you were like a jerk. Now you are to the point. Most of the DV holders do not utilize what they have got and spend their whole life working for a gas station. They dont seek for better oppurtunity and feel like they have got everything. Unless they utilize GC this is nothing. Bandar ko haat ma Nariwal. Even I have seen some engineers working at gas station. they could take a US degree and could enhance themselves. I wish I had a DV lottery.

I agree with Kalam. You can not stereotype people based on the visa status they hold. Just because you come here as a student doesn’t automatically grant you superiority over DV winners or any other individual group for that matter. People come to USA with different motives and they work hard to progress towards those goals. Not everybody needs to go to school or need to work in Indian restaurants. I know students who go to community college for years and years to merely keep their status alive. They are betrayed in both ways: no GC and no education. I also know Nepalese who came here as DV winners and are enriched both academically and financially. Usually, it is difficult for Nepalese from rural areas to qualify as a student due to their limited financial resources. Therefore, majority of the students who come to USA on F1 visas are from cities with good financial and academic background. For DV, however, the only thing that matters is luck. So whoever has the luck gets to come here regardless of his/her locality, age, wealth or education. The differences in behaviors and priorities for F1 and DV are due to these factors. We should try to learn, understand and embrace all our differences and look for lots of other similarities that are present within us.

I don’t think all F1 are smart and all DV are khate. Yea, that is true if you take the percentage of F1 are smarter than DV. F1 students came form good education and passing lots of test (TOEFL,GRE,SAT) and also gone through interview process where consulate verify their education and smartness.Yeti bhayera aye pachi ta F1 haru ta smart hunai paryou ni hoina ra?? But DV is totally different there is no need of higher education so how can you compare F1 and DV. This is like comparing orange and marble. Or, someone from jumla/humla just came to ktm first time and you are comparing with genius rich guy from ktm valley. I know most of DV guys have lack of education and don’t know how deals with people. Even low paying job, car and beer for weekend is good enough for them. Hami le yo kura mi uni haru lai khisi garnu hudiana..we need to teach them ..how education can help them for their future, what are the things they need. How deal with people. I am not a DV winner , but whenever I meet with DV guys, I found lots of things they don’t know so I try to explain them or, help them if they need. Hami pani suru ma nepal bata auda tyasatai thiyou hola !!! Anyway, don’t hate them , try to teach them. Saan Dai

Well, all ur comments are worth noting. But give me the answer to this question: Manche haru afno dharatal birsiyera kina show off garchan ta? Nachahine Dhak dhakku, rawaf kina dekhaunu paryo tiniharu lai? Why can't they remain modest and not try to boast off? Does that sound good?

Brown Sugar states,"Manche haru afno dharatal birsiyera kina show off garchan ta? Nachahine Dhak dhakku, rawaf kina dekhaunu paryo tiniharu lai? Why can't they remain modest and not try to boast off?" YOU JUST ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION... HEHE TIMII AFNO DHARATAN BIRSIYERA KINA ARKAAA LAI KHATTEY BHANDAI HIDCAHU TA ? SAME REASON. They probably say the same shit about yo. Maybe if you respected them regardless of their looks and educational background maybe they will respect you too. EVER THINK OF THAT. BUT IF YOU BRUSH EM OFF SAYING KHATTEY THEN THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE SAME ATTITUDE.

BrownSugar you need to understand every person thinks differently. Let them do dhak dhakku who cares... Just ignore it. you seems very frustrated by DV people. What do you expect those DV people who works 12 hrs a shift in gas stations and subway and motels except students who has goals. These people have no goals other then making money working like dog. I have seen very few people who thinks for better opportunity and works hard and study well even getting DV. I am here in LA since 8 yrs and just got green card (not DV one) and have job in descent company making $120K per year.

Brown sugar You see how F1 people too showed off... Don't put your aerrow against DV winners only. Like SAAN DAI, give them good advice and make them your friend. Jealousy never wins the race.

Why would you be bothered by this unless you're a DV Winner who considers himself to be a 'Khate'.

As far as I know, students are more “khates†than anybody else - well, at least, I used to be one. Slept wherever, eat whatever, woke up whatever time, worked like one crazy dog, shared a room with three other roommates and had no money to spare. I’m sure that I must have been one heck of a “Khate†until I finished my school. I guess most other students would agree that they had been through pretty much same “Khate†lifestyles. DV winners usually don’t go through all these hassles. They have quite a life to begin with.
