Sajha may cease to exist... as a helpful site for a lot of Nepalis if certain things are not addressed.
Lately there has been a lot of horseplay going on in sajha which has the potential of undermining the usefulness of sajha so I had been meaning to write something to inform a select group of users that sajha is not a playground for their personal entertainment. There are different types of entertainment that can be enjoyed by everyone but not the type that is achieved by ridiculing others, name calling, posting vulgar words, and discouraging others from being part of sajha.
I had been meaning to write but I was postponing a bit but the following post has indicated that my action is getting more urgent.
"साझामा आउने अति "बुद्धिजिबी", "चाहिने भन्दा धेरै बढी गम्भिर" अनि "पाखे टाइप" हरुलाई बिच्काउनु नै मेरो एक मात्रा उद्देश्य हो| "
The particular person had been banned in the past as well, due to spreading negativity, and after months of him imploring me to unban him I activated his account again; and looks like he is there again ignoring the only major policy of sajha - that of tolerance.
In sajha, noone is a बुद्धिजिबी or पाखे. Everyone is ordinary, some more ordinary than others but everyone deserving the same respect, tolerance and the ability to post in sajha without fear of retribution from a self-proclaimed individual or a group who want sajha to be the way they deem fit for their personal entertainment. Everyone has a right to post in sajha that is not abusive to anyone, that is not intolerant of others. Everyone has a right to agree to disagree without being offensive. Noone has a right to be offensive to others for their thoughts and ideas which are not offensive to anyone.
Sajha has a potential of helping out a lot of people in their pursuit of knowledge, roommates, general questions, immigration issues, and essentially the sky is the limit on what can be achieved by helping each other out and collaborating on positive activities. It definitely is not going to be undermined by a single user or a group of users who may be under the impression that sajha is like the Japanese donated sajha bus - of which they want to break the window, tear the seats according to their whims for their personal entertainment.
To date, thousands of people have benefitted from sajha and more will in the coming future. This is just a note to inform few select users that their language and attitude needs to improve if they want to continue to be part of this community.
All postings after this will be monitored to ensure that the policy of tolerance is respected and if it is clear that someone does not want to be a part of sajha then we will make sure to give a fitting and well deserved farewell.

SAN,
Dherai rules ra regulation rakhyou bhane sajha le afno astitwa gumaula. Feri sajha pani mysansar jasto hola. I come to sajha because there are ppl with different points of view, better or worse we are different. I think it should be a self correcting system rather than some person doing the sensorship. You know what I mean. Put in rules but make them minimal. And let the ppl of sajha decide what stays and what goes away.
my 2 cents.

Hoina sathi maile bhanne khojeko , euta popular site emotion le nachalau, I mean put some rules around and make the human intervention minimal bhanna khojeko ho. You may be right about that user, but again timro ra mero opinion (even SAN) may not concur with average sajha users. We are humans after all, driven by our emotions, in that sense, rightness and wrongness may only be seperated by very thin line. He can come up with something like people can flag the user if they don't like him/her and censor the user or the post based on those flags. This flags can be based on the content of their post or the attitude towards others. I am just giving an example, I think he knows better.
again just my 2 cents.

We always like to blame and talk big. When authority doesn't do something, we talk against; when it does, we talk against. It seems like we're obsessed to be in the opposition. We like to have freedom and talk about freedom, but don't want to have any bit of responsibility that comes with freedom. Public doesn't want to take whatsoever responsibility. For example, 'mithai pasals' were raided and then exposed by media and everyone knows the names. Some of them were closed and punished, and some were not based on sharing of the profit provided to the authorities. But the public had the freedom not to eat from those places; I was shocked to see the same crowd at the places like 'Rameswor' in TV.
No offense to bodmas, but did u even notice the option of 'flagging' existing in sajha for years. We are in haste to criticize, aren't we?

nepchai,
I am not offended, but I am for continious improvement, flagging was just one idea, if it is not working try something else. What good it is to censor each and every thread or person based on personal emotions. Tei pani hami sajha user le nai naramro comment ra user lai discourage gari ra chau ta, hoina ra? You came up with some catchy words, I am never here to spread negetive energy. I want to inspire and be inspired by my fellow nepali daju bhai and didi bahini. And don't compare mithai pasal to sajha, they are like apple and oranges. I love to see and enjoy sajha, but in the mean time kunai post lai ramro ra naramro bhanne euta person ko decision hunu hudai bhanne matra mero bichar ho. Aba site ta SAN ko ho usle jasari chalauchu bhancha chalauna paucha, maile chai jyada censor garera MYsansar jasto nabanau, let us enjoy sajha bhaneko ho. I am up for rules and regulations but I don't think one single person is smart enough to decide what is right and what is not.
I have said enough.
Peace.

bodmas, I don't disagree with you. Sometimes, I flag the thread and then I would be the only one.
Again, I agree with what you said and I completely understand that you've good intentions. But just for fun, I'm going to write few more ramblings; it may not have anything to do with this thread. FYI, it doesn't contain any seriousness, intelligence, or pakhepan.
We removed one raja whom we thought (and were in fact) commiting corruption and ruling authoritarian rule. But now we've multiple rajas who are now replicating the same, even exponentially. We wanted freedom, democracy, rights and all that. But these have been hijacked by the greedy and crooked politicians so much so that many people now holds the opinion of favoring the authoritarian (even military) rule if it can provide the justice and maintain the proper law and order in the country.

lol few of posts around here makes me laugh .
I am up for rules and regulations but I don't think one single person is smart enough to decide what is right and what is not.
Site is owned by one person and server costs are maintained by him only . He is not begging for any donation out here . He is running a simple community site for you all where you can find various information and help if needed . I know many people who have benefitted from sajha itself .
It was about the time when these things were coming . This is a online community forum not some country where you have freedom of speech you need to follow the rules suggested by the Administration or else you need to find some other place for timepass .
If there's some serious materials on site it's owner who will get in trouble from various places not the users who come and post random craps out here . So you guys need to learn how to take such things easy .

@bodmas bro , just imagine one thing and tell me what will happen when you place some usefull question or important question and someone like SOM comes and not only make fun of you also fill the thread with negative ideas and thoughts.
I am glad SAN stated doing this after a long time.

Tyo mero point of view ho, if all of you think that way, I may be wrong( or may be i think differently).
@tunar: - it was not meant to be funny, but if you get a laugh out of it, be my guest.
Tara again is SAN going to read and analyze each and every post? I think there are better things to do in life. I was just trying to look for options that will make his life easier and sajha a better place.
I have nothing more to say in this topic.
Peace.

Mr San,
Where were you for this long? Sajha was like a Bhadbhailo web site. Now a days it is no more a good site that we were getiing information and help like 1 or 2 years back but is like a very low standard site. If you want all the old people and all the family members to come back and visit your site you have to inforce some kind of rule or standard. This is just my thought. Peace.

Kudos to san Dai. Wht you have done now should have been done long long ago. Its all because of these kind of users, we lost so many great users . I just appreciate your invovlement to banned these people.. and yeah one more note, to all of those who advoate about expressing their so called 'rights' to express their opinion freely, i suggest you to be a 'human' first and then come here to talk about your rights..

Freedom comes with a great sense of responsibility too. whoever is askin for freedom better free urself from uncivilized thoughts. this site was one of my fav. coz of so many reasons. Finally a rite step by the admin n hope those my fav. users whose articles n stories i missed start to surf n iam gonna get some stuff that reminds me iam Nepali n proud to have these people as Nepali.

Lately sajha was captured by few "dons" . Whenever there is a serious thread they used to come and create many BS threads above it so that the serious thread would disappear from the first page. They were behaving like "Mafia" in Nepal.
I was thinking may be the "admin" wants sajha to be like that. In the name of freedom there was anarchism. It looked their aim was to discourage the serious discussion by flooding sajha with many BS threads. Tolarance is must but in the name of tolerance anarchism should not be encourgaed. Kudos to admin.
