First of all, don't get wrong idea from my name. I know some of you here are expert in Canadian permanent residency process. I am just about to apply for it as skilled worker at Buffalo center, and I need your help.. please. Right now, I am going through Appendix of checklist, and I found a few things confusing. Proof of English: I got my bechelor's degree and master's degree in the U.S. What is that, written submission of detailing your trainning, in and use of, English? Official documentation of education in English? Don't education certificates from the US universities prove my English proficiency? Police certificate and clearances: I have been in the US about 10 years. I have a recent police report from Nepal... Now how am I supposed to get one from the US? I didn't understand this part: submit original fingerprints directly to the authorieis conducting the police checks? Can somebody elaborate on this part? I would really appriciate this.

Canada vs. US: It really depends on your choices. Personally I did not find Canada any worse off than US. Provided you have a good job, I would not have a preferrence as the fact is we are all gold-diggers...

I need some info about Business Class Visa for Canada? I know there are 3 categories 1. Invester (800000 CAD) 2. Entrepreneur (300000 CAD) 3. Self-Employed I need some info about 2 and 3, does anyone have detailed info about those 2? 2 and 3 -- How long does it take normally to get the Visa after applying? 2 -- can someone evaluate their fixed property or does it require cash? And if cash then do we just need to show it or need to bring it to Canada? For third category I need detailed information if anyone knows. Thanks in advance.

Pretty, As far as my knowledge goes, there are two types of them - the business classes. One is assessed at the federal level and the other at the provincial level. the rumour goes like they are more meant for those who are already doing business in canada but are not canadians yet. For a newbie contemplating investing here, they will have to verify the source of money, besides the regular verification of identity and security. They brag that they dont allow "black money". Another rumour says this kind of "already existing" theory holds only for the federal level, who are by nature, more reluctant to take decisions on such issues that might make more news. As u know, as canada allows dual citizenships, allowing "purchasing" of citizenship (PR actually) will let "many different varieties" of people. However, with the provincial approach, sometimes it is a lot faster than the skilled immigrant track and I have personally seen a few successful cases too. One more benefit is that you dont have to go through the frustating cycle of "networking" and setting up here as such immigrants are directly led to the local chamber of commerce (provincial wala ma) and introduced to business folks, investment advisors and so on. No frustation of odd jobs, humiliation, nothing...sidhai sasurali gako jasto! For more on this provincial thing, each province has its own rules. for anyone interested, let me make it more clear that it is a country of diversity and as a means of reaching to all the communities, the governments (feds and provs) are SPECIALLY AWARE to disseminate info from web. Look at any of the govt of canada websites and compare to websites of any other govts and you urself will feel the difference. As far as i m aware, the official govt policy is to make ALL the unclassified info available on the web so that one does not need to go and contact them or lawyers or whatever. However, they also have a policy of limiting online processing becasue they think ppl are not well acquainted with that. So, you will find fillable or non-fillable PDF forms on the web that you have to print and mail but not online-submit kinda forms per se. Hope I answered you well, otherwise you know what to do.

one more advise to the interested folks, particularly if you are an engineer, and dont quite think that you are going to school after you come to Canada, I would recommend you considering Australia. In Australia, you can directly get the "professional licence" which is issued once you get there and get along with a job. Jobs are also more available in Australia अरे . In Canada, if you dont have an undergrad degree from Canada, you HAVE to go to school and take a few courses just to apply for a licence, and there is kind of "abundance" of engineers, if u will. So, getting the first job without a local full degree might be a matter of luck than chance, let alone possibility. Also, heard from folks in Australia, you will save more than you do in Canada. But, if you are truly thinking about यतै घर जम गर्नी, नफर्कनी, then I would recommend Canada, its REALLY a good place to settle down, especially in terms of how you get to integrate into the mainstream populace - almost no racism, great social security, fair practice etc. Good luck

Why don't you look up www.cic.gc.ca rather than soliciting second hand info ?

As far as I remember, you have to provide details of all your family members (dad, mom, half and full brothers and sisters). But you have to provide passport no. and photoes of your own family, ie., spouse, your own children.

newlynew, I already checked www.cic.gc.ca, there is a lot of info there but it does not tell about the questions I have above. I also checked many other agent's sites.

Perfectly as newlynew put it, "there is nothing that you need to know that is not in www.cic.gc.ca. All you have to do is browse ... katmandude, sorry dude, didnt see your posting earlier. था ' भाको कुरो त भनी हाल्छम् नी । Answer is: YES, YOU DO. You need to give them all the information of ur parents, spouse, siblings, and children regardless of whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not. Dude (डुडे)को अझ अघिल्लो कोइशन् They are saying this is pretty a GREEN time now from job perspective in "production-posts". By production-posts they mean ppl involved in direct production sector, such as engineers, technicians etc. It is, according to the bald-headed dudes, because a large number of those old-timer dudes entered the workforce in the eighties and they are on a retiring spree now. However, if the dude does not have a local degree, those dudes dont normally want to hire. Job-wise Alberta is at an all-time high. Dude, you are a hot cake if your field is in oil and gas industry. Ontario is probably the next. Dunno abt the rest. Good luck dude Keep on rolling... जय शम्भो, कैलाशपतिकी
