It's getting quite interesting... Hard to determine which one is propaganda, Govt's version or Prachandapanthi's version. Interestingly, why Mahara has to come up so quickly with the statment related to the news of expelled baburame. How can they prove? The burden of proof suddenly fell on the shoulders of prachandapantis more than on the Govt's shoulders. Because prachandapanthi came up so qucikly to deny the news releases by Rastriya Samachar Samiti. If they have brains (which we know they have rotten ones only), they rather have Baburame release his statement than that of Mahara. But by the way the things are moving in Nepal between Govt and Prachandapanthis.... we always have to keep on bugging our minds if there has always been close link between King Gyane and Prachandapanthis. (I like to now call Moists as Prachandapanthi as per the suggestion of UML). And what a coincidence, when Tulsi Giri asked not to give brand name "Maoists" thenafter UML decided to call "Prachandapanthi". What's going on???

so to some people they would rather believe in the maosit propaganda rather than the govts? see this is why the king easily took over......the political parties couldnt come up with a common platform against the maoist......they said one thing and did the complete opposite. if u call them terrorists then behave as they are like one.

FALSE NEWS OF BABURAM EXPELLED - BBC DECLARED This means that Nepalese should not trust (1) nepalnews.com and (2) Kantipuronline.com ----------------------------- Nepal rebels deny reports of rift: - BBC NEWS Maoist rebels in Nepal have flatly denied official claims they have expelled one of their senior leaders. State-owned media has reported that Baburam Bhattarai and his wife, Hisila Yami, were ousted after a meeting of the rebels' central committee. But a rebel statement said the reports were "absolutely false". Mr Bhattarai was "working with party chairman Prachanda and continuing to carry out his responsibilities", the statement circulated to the media said. The reports from official circles that say that Baburam Bhattarai and his wife were expelled from the movement are absolutely false Maoist Communist Party statement Correspondents say Baburam Bhattarai is the second most powerful person in the rebel movement. The Maoist statement also said it was untrue that there had been a campaign of graffiti against the party leadership and the movement. "Both of these claims amount to propaganda by the army and a continuation of the reactionary policy of divide and rule," it said. "We urge people not to be taken in by such misinformation." Mounting violence Mr Bhattarai led the rebels in failed peace talks with the government in 2003. Since then there have been frequent newspaper reports alleging a rift between him and rebel leader Prachanda - apparently over Mr Bhattarai's wish to resume peace talks. Violence has escalated in Nepal following the rebels' withdrawal from negotiations in August 2003. About 11,000 people have now died in the 10 years since the rebels began their fight for a communist republic, the army says. Last month, with the security situation worsening, King Gyanendra sacked the multi-party government, seized direct powers and declared a state of emergency. Prachanda responded by promising to step up what he called armed resistance. Story from BBC NEWS: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/1/hi/world/south_asia/4350189.stm Published: 2005/03/15 12:51:19 GMT

..it's surprising that people still consider BBC as a valuable source of information...GONE are the days of BBC....we are already in the 21st century and there are lots of free flow of information....BBC nepali service is just trying to get hold of the people who are easily accessible and undoubtedly maoists approach them..So most of the time BBC broadcasts news, interviews of the maoists giving a wrong impression to people..... Niriha manchhe lai k thaha ki BBC ma kaam garne manchhe ko lagi kehi news ko KHURAAK ta chahinchha ni bhanne.... You took my word, Prem,,,. bbc nepali service is like mukhpatra of nepali maoists....they know whereabouts of krishna mahara , baburam etc....don't get surprised if baburam gives interview tomorrow in bbc ..

Asjab, Everything that tries to bring news from different segments of Nepali politics is the mukhpatra of Maoists, right? Why don't you be straightforward and tell us we should believe YOU more than BBC, NY Times or anyother news source? Oh, yeah, you can also tell us we should believe you more than the human right organizations, including the international ones, working in Nepal! Have a nice time enjoying your fantancies while they last, M.P.

one of the things one misses the most while living abroad is the national propensity of the nepalis to " kothe raajniti" which each and every self-respecting nepali does .....i thank those who uphoald this tradition of ours on the sajha forums...to some nations the favorite topic of conversation is the weather while we continuingly seem to be more and more content with ours : the political weather.. jai nepal

Say what you may, I still believe BBC is perhaps one of the most unbiased, objective and accurate news agency. To understand what I am saying , one just has to watch the nightly news of CBS, NBC and ABC - or better yet FOX - and then compare that to BBC News. As for news from Nepal, with current stranglehold on free-press, only likes of BBC can and does provide something that resembles news. Look, any non-idiot would know enough to take with grain of salt whatever comes from Nepali Press nowadays. And this particular claim was made by RNA, for god's sake.

- http://www.bbc.co.uk/nepali/ That's the Nepali sewa of BBC Site.... That's what we are talking of. C'mon.... BBC is writing exactly what Prachandapanthi's website cpnm.org is saying, i.e. Mahara's statement. BBC indeed know how to get audio interview from Mahara.. why the hell can't they get audio interview from Baburam himself? Immediately after Feb 1 takeover, this wensite totally looked like prachandapanthi's MUKHpatra.. those days their BBCNepali website carried more than 70% items in thier main page related to Prachandapanthi's. BBC Nepali website looks so RED at that time. I wonder if the relatives of the nepalese working for BBC nepali are somehow under a threat of prachandapanthi group.. and that's why insane prachandapanthi has been manipulating BBC Nepali to publish things favorable to the rebels.

There are many ways to bring the snake out of their holes. It?s simple fact that the RNA and KG?s men are pushing this bait to catch the snake; afterall media is dancing to their (RNA and KG?s) tunes now. We shall be seeing many more in future. But let?s hope we the general public does not have suffer in their dirty games. Peace!!
