E = mc^2

This year has been marked the Eienstein year to clelbrate his 100th anniversary of Annus Mirralabis. Einstein was a brilliant man, a man who revolutioned Physics. Many physicsts would definately agree, Newton and Einstein rule the world of physics. This man's work was so powerful, that no one even dared to challenge his work for at least a decade. I will be adding more information on Eienstein and his work, on forth coming days. For now, let us enjoy Einstein year.

Canadian researchers have found that Einstein's brain was 15% wider than normal. Furthermore they have discovered that the part of Einsteins's brain was related to mathematical reasoning.the inferior parietal region was 15 percent wider on both sides than a normal brain.
Einstein's brain is owned by scientist John Harvey. Harvey was a pathologist at a small hospital in Princeton, N.J., when Einstein died in 1955 at the age of 76. Harvey performed the autopsy, determined Einstein died of natural causes and took the brain home with him.
Albert Einstein was reluctant to sign autographs, and often charged people a dollar before signing anything. He then gave the money to charity.
Albert Einstein was offered the presidency of Israel in 1952, but he declined.
Einstein couldn't speak fluently when he was nine. His parents thought he might be retarded.

i think its interesting

Einstein became isolated in his research over a Generalized Theory of Gravitation and was ultimately unsuccessful in his attempts at constructing a theory that would unify General Relativity and quantum mechanics.

"einstein became isolated in his research over a Generalized Theory of Gravitation and was ultimately unsuccessful in his attempts at constructing a theory that would unify General Relativity and quantum mechanics."

alicia - that's the holy grail of modern physics - to come up with a grand theory of everything that unifies the four fundamental forces. 50 yrs since einstein's dealth, lotsa great physicists have died trying to solve this problem. and the criticism of string theory is that none of that shit can be verified experimentally, cos we are dealing with extremely small "stuff," so many reputed physicists of today, including sheldon glashow are strong critics of string theory.

looking forward to hearing more about einstein's work on brownian motion and photoelectricity.....

ya I think this theory is not going to be verified experimentally anytime soon, not by conventional means as we are talking abt it at the level of sub atomic particles. Can't believe how much energy its gonna require to study these lil tiny particles.may be length width time n height is not enough for this theory. But many mathematicians have been working on it.so hopefully one day.

Brownian motion
--------------------

This was Einstein the first major paper submitted to Annalen der Physik by Einstein.
This wasnt something new, a french mathematician had already propsed a
mathematical model for this motion, (media has hyped it making Einstein
the first one to propose this model, which is not true.) French guy's theory is
still widely known and used in many financial way.

Now, first of all, what is Brownian motion? Brownian motion is a random motion
caused by tiny particles when it is supspended in liquid or gas. The first to
experiment with this motion was botanist, Robert Brown. Then the second to
give it the theory was the French guy, Louis Bachelie. Now the most important
thing that Einstein did with this motion was he took the kinetic thoery of fluids
(which was very controversial at that time) and predicted that molecules of fluids
wud move at random ,and with it the particles creating a random movement. Now
what was amzing was, this prediction precisly solved the Brown's Puzzle!

This is a very broad mathematical theory. With help of his theory Einstein
also helped solve the mystery of atom. It was amazing till 1905 even
Chemist who relied on Periodic table questioned the reality of atom
but many scientits are beilived to be convinced after reading Einstein's paper.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
zalim and aliciaa, it is good to find freinds in sajha
sharing such interest. Yes, you know the joke they
say abt string theorits, it goes, Either you are Physicts or
a string theorist. String theory is different is every perspective,
but so was Einstein theory of Relativity(atleast in many things),
but as Nature (esclipse) helped him prove he was
right, maybe same thing will happen to String theory.
Around the world, many
labs have opned up to test this theory,
i think on Switzerland, they are building
world's largest atom Smasher to help solve this puzzle.

yea confused, i used to love this shit. when i was in high school, i used to religiously read
scientific american and physics today, although i only understood maybe 20%. I thought i would be a physicist, but when i landed in college i changed course. now i am more of an economist. btw, are/were you a physics major?

pretty nice.i had written something earlier but it said my session expired so everything got lost damn.
what abt quantum theoryof light?
Einstein's work on quanta of light provides the foundation for revolutionary ideas like our universe is composed of tiny, discrete energy n matter of light?

keep on writing more abt it
:)
