As a factor in the regular season he led Mavs to 67-15 franchise record While as a non-factor, Mavs floundered 2-4 with the Warriors. Since MVP is judged as per regular season's performance ..Dirk will for sure get the award although he might wanna tell Nash, "here you go stevie, you deserve it"

okay if they had voted for the MVP after the playoffs had already started ..yu think the results would have been different ..possibly but if were to talk abt fairness it should not be cuz MVP is based on an individual's performance in the regular season

Sleepy Bro: I have similar things to say about Dirk, as you so aptly put it....he is no way close to Larry Bird, and ain't better than Boozer in so many things....Just coz you are white and can shoot does not make you a Larry Bird in the making....Nice words there from you..I simply paraphrased.... I think we need to look at 2 things on how Nash didn;t win the MVP this year, rather than why Dirk won/deserved it more. I still think MVP is the wrong award for the wrong title. I think they either should name it the best player in the best team. Most valuable Player? Dirk or Nash??? I bet you, without Nash, Phoenix is more like Golden State Warriors.....Take him out, and the entire team suffers....But, in Dallas, you take Dirk out, you can easliy start Stackhouse and they still win 50+ regular season games... I could have made an argument on why Kobe deserves the MVP over DIRK.....take Kobe out of the lineup in Lakers, and they are a lottery team at best....KObe pushed Lakers into the playoffs....granted Phoenix made it a brief post-season... So, My MVP candidates were, Nash, Kobe, then Dirk and Duncan....Good for the NBA, I don't have the VOTE....Or else, Kobe might win every other year !

Oh, another thing I forgot to mentioned...I heard on several sports talk shows, nationally, and locally that the voters simply didn't feel like they should put Nash in the elite group of winning MVP award 3 years in a row...mind you, only a handful have done so......I am not saying that was the only reason, but I can see why that would have played some role on Nash not winning, rather than Dirk winning ! So, as they kinda eliminated Nash from the MVP running, DIRK was their obvious choice, as most of them are Kobe haters, and simply would not vote for him...thus, by Default, Dirk was the winner !

Nash, Nash and only Nash Was Dirk not responsible for making his team mates better this year..how do you account for the improvement of Howard, Terry and Harris
