Combing operation against Maoists in Rolpa KASHIRAM DANGI Rolpa, Dec 29 - The Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) has launched a massive combing operation against the Maoists in Rolpa district to flush out the rebels from their stranglehold area. A large number of the government troops have already entered the district's northern and western villages on Saturday. A group of soldiers has been dispatched to Thawang village in the north while another has been deployed in Bhawang village in the west. Each group of troops comprising 500 soldiers - have been formed for the combing operation mission. Army choppers dropped over 2,000 soldiers in the district from neighboring Dang and Chitwan for the operation which include the commandos of the army’s special force - Ranger Battalion. According to the New Gorakh Battalion based at Libang, each group has been deployed to the Maoist stronghold areas under the command of a Lieutenant Colonel. The RNA operation comes at a time when the Maoist-declared unilateral ceasefire is still on and is likely to expire on January 2. The source also said that the latest security operation would be one of the "deadliest" operations. "Although we have plans to conduct the operation for about a week to disarm the rebels, we will establish temporary camps in various villages," the source said. The RNA has also warned various representatives of development organizations in the district to refrain from going out into the village areas for few days. http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=60975

Gwajyo, Listen you! Stop trying to make a preacher out of me. I am not one and I am not gonna pretend to be one. The reason I have bitter words for people like Mr. Birbhadra is that I am kinda sick and tired of people who sit in a cosy room and type out some philosophical diarrhea about Nepal, which they probably havent seen in you know how many years. You can make a note in your little brain of yours that as long as there are people like you who think that its your birth right to make fun an establishment just cuz you have lived in this so called free world, then there will be people like me who will challenge you and your thoughts the way we want it. Remember its a free world you are fighting for. I am practising one. The question is, can you handle what you are fighting for?

Do you believe in drama? Look at cartoon of this thread. http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/OpenThread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=26197 Many of present ministers would have opposed the poll if they were not ministers. Take the example of minister kesar bdr. bista. How can you gurantee that it's going to be fair?

Gwajyo, Can you guarantee any election is 100% fair? Democracy is a process. It takes cumulative effort from all the participants to make it fair. Florida election was in NO way fair. For the survival of democracy, one of the players accepted defeat for the higher cause. Can you ask your leaders to do the same or are they bigger than the system? Or do they want a system thats gonna guarantee their personal victory? Lets not also forget that the King is not running in this election. So what are they worried about? It will be one of the seven/eight parties who will turn out victor in this race, if they participate that is.

First of all, let me clarify that they're not my leaders; and unfortunately i've to agree that they're crooked as royals n' royalists. And I'm just a supporter of democracy. Please don't talk like Dr. giri by saying that the democracy already exists. Regarding unfair elections, the difficulties in getting 100% fair election, and the presence of several examples of unfair elections elsewhere doesn't justify us to do the same. After saying that democracy exists, you mentioned one more irony by saying that leaders are asking guarantee for their personal victory. If that's the case, I'd like to remind you that Dr. Giri has mentioned about 'Panchayat election' instead of 'Parliament elections' after this municipal polls. I guess that I won't have to mention about the assurance of personal victory during panchayat era as the article published on Kathmandu post today tells the story. For your reference, http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=61049 A sentence from above article, "I basically pointed out the flaw in the electoral system in which the Panchayat leaders could continue to hold top positions without having to face people in election by simply buying favour of a few district panchayat members." Another question is that how many of present ministers have guts to stand on elections?

hey Vincent, here's a little piece of adivce...if I may. People like Birbhadra & gwajyo are big time dhoti supporters. Their one and only agenda is to make Nepal part of india. Thus you see them starting all kind of propaganda, from war to genocide by the state against the Nepalese people. They know their dhoti waals in india have already bought and have full control over the political parites and maoist of nepal. So, people like Birbhadra & gwajyo are paid by RAW to spread all kinds of rumors and propaganda to turn Nepalese against our king who they know can't buy becuase king will not be sold, since he can only exist if Nepal exists first. This traitor gwajyo has gone as far as saying, if india will take over nepal it will be a blessing. So you see what I'm saying....these two are indian dogs and there is no point in having any kind of talk or discussion with them in matters that affects TRUE Nepalese. Peace Brother!

III_II_I_II_III, I do not understand why the royalists have to bring anti India hatred to defend monarchy. Can't you use any better arguments? Your propoganda is just disgusting. I just wanted to bring to your attention a few doses of reality 1) Your nawayuawaraj dhiraj (Paras' son and daughter for your information) are half Indians. So your future King will be half indian. 2) Some of the biggest partners of King G are Indians 3) King G's grand father took refuge in India and Indians saved his ass So inspite of all the political acting, King G will be the first one to kiss an Indian ass if the Indian Government support him.

One more thing to fools like pats and alike: "In 1979, King Birendra declared a referendum to choose between party-less Panchayat system and multi-party polity in which the former was declared winner. He is also known for proposing Nepal to be declared as a “Zone of Peace” at his coronation in 1974. The move was supported by 116 countries in the world. India, however, did not support the proposal. " Above quote taken from nepalnews.com So why do I and people like me bring dhotis in our discussion of democracy and peace?? Well that is because they are the biggest obstacle. If India didn't reconize Nepal as a peace zone even when we were a peaceful nation during that time, what in the world does it make you think India will help bring peace in Nepal now, when things are already in ciaos?? It has always been a dream of dhotis to have an unstable Nepal and fools like pats get played perfectly for dhoti cause.

gwajyo, Democracy is not some kind of panacea that will cure everything. If you dont like the leaders nor the King then I dont think theres much you can do. You have a logic of "you can cut a piece of my flesh, but make sure there's not blood." I would encourage you to live in reality for second. Its either going to be the King or the leaders that will have to take us out of the sticky situation we are in. Take your pick. I pick the King seven days a week and twice on Sunday. This is not because he is going to provide me with a salary, its rather because I believe in his ways. The way he stood against the International force when he took over, the way he stood against India during the SAARC, the way he has represented himself lately, that has even broken down the so called unbreakable Maoists. I have picked my leader.

For II.., I didn't know that you find my posts worth of being paid for. If you're getting paid by royals for posting here, please let me know. Some of my frens would also be interested in your job. Please do not forget to go through following thread before making any accusations. http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/OpenThread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=26223 http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/OpenThread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=26093 Regarding Bodega's comment, if i can have only two choice, obviously I'd go for leaders because they can always be replaced by people, whereas royals can never be replaced. Royals don't need to be elected, and afterall they're above the laws. So there's no way anyone can doubt about their deeds as they can commit no mistakes. According to our attorney general, even whatever law or any change by visnu ko avtar should be regarded as new law, and no1 should ever doubt about it.

Democracy is not some kind of panacea that will cure everything. Vincent Bodega, you took the words out of my mouth. There are a few educated but illusioned people who harbor the ideas that democracy will solve the problems without doubt. What they do not understand is there are so many factors that need to be in place before democracy can work. Of course we need democracy. It is not a matter of IF but WHEN. Definitely not now. After some years? Lets see! Good argument, Vincent. Way to go.

royalist dogs, you can bark behind your computers as much as you want. but if you challenge me physically as vincent (wonder if he is a nepali or not) then lets meet and finalize. let me know if you have guts. if i have to support anyone i will support political parties. if that is not an option i will support maoist over royal. prachanda represents underprivileged nepali. all this royalist are those you haven't lived outside of kathmandu don't know that people don't have enough food clothes to wear. they think kathmandu is nepal. gaunle jiwan katiko kastapurna ra garho cha yee rajabadi harulai ke tha. and II I.. it was me who said it will be a blessing if india takes over nepal not gwajyo. i said it just for a hypothetical discussion. i DO NOT want nepal to be annexed to india i think no nepali will want that. tara ta jasto bewakuf lai bujhauna garo cha. ekkaisau satabdi ma ayera ghusiya rajalai support garne "regressionist" haru lai parai bata mero bye bye. and yes vincent maoist can take kathmandu anytime (they have control of ~ 70% of nepal directly or indirectly, anyways, like it or not its a fact) and the only remaining places are kathmandu and other major cities. if you know about guerrila warfare one well equipped guerrila can tackle at least 3- 5 army personnel because their tactics is to attack and retreat. whereas army only attacks and usually doesn't retreat unless they start losing heavily. maoist are not planning to capture kathmandu because if they do so nepal will be subjected to international intervention primarily by india. and maoist do not want any foreign occupation in nepal. if nepal is taken completely by maoist nepal will be declared a failed state and even UN will agree for international intervention in nepal because it would be a matter of regional stability and security esp. for india. gareeb nepaliko marka nabujhne yee rajabadi haru lai ramayan ta sunaye tara sita kaski joi? bhanna ber chaina jai nepal nepal nepali jindabad raja rajako chamcha murdabad
