I don't think I said anything wrong when I said stop begging for votes. Stop cheating the system to win.

I voted for the baby twice.
But, parents, please realize this is an equivalent of cyber begging.
First of all the kid doesn't even know what she is contesting in, so if she wins she isn't going to be super happy.
Second, it's not a charm contest, its how many people you can persuade to vote contest. What's the point in that?
One kid will win the grand prize and unless you flood all the Nepali sites with your requests, that won't be your kid. Only entity it benefits is the website. Get real!!
Now, I'd rather donate for your kids education via paypal if you really want to secure that money for your child; face it, winning in that comp doesn't mean your child won it by the merit of her/his looks. It won it because of your "begging."
Sorry for being harsh, but the voters should realize what this is all about. It's the website's ploy of brining traffic. That is all.

Bairagi are you kidding me? Lets be clean from own home and then teach other to be clean???
How are you being clean by cheating the system???
mailadai I don't vote, and if i don't like what i see I comment. You are begging and setting a wrong example for your kid to win by any means, even if it means cheating the system. Not only you are cheating you are asking others to cheat for you. Such typical nepali mentality.

I don't really see what the big deal truly is. The guy wants to win 25k, let him do it. I'd rather he flooeded sajha asking for votes to his cute baby instead of an imbecile like bad boy flooding it with his jibberish nonsense.

Stiffler you got it.
In most of these competition, you don't even win anything. It says if you get voted you get a chance to win $25,000 so basically you don't win anything even if you get voted.
Parents get in a frenzy to get recognition for their kids. They have to pay an application fee. These websites actually make money from ads than the original business they have.
For this particular competition from parents.com, there are many fraud and scam alerts listed for them.
If I were a parent I would stay clear away from these scams.

Even if the baby wins, it's unlikely they will ever contact you. Our baby won and we never heard a word from them. We also sent emails inquiring and received nothing. I am beginning to think it's a scam to get clicks on their site.

OK,my son won the kid of the week contest under CuteKid.Me & my sisters read the official rules more than 3 times. It said very clear that the winner will get certificate and $250.I never got the check.I contacted them. She said that "My son won in the cutekid category which doesn't have cash prize.I asked for the official rules because right now you can't find it on the website obviously they took it out & guess what she said that they don't even have the official rules. THIS IS A SCAM!

My daughters photo has gotten over 100 confirmed votes by my family and friends and everyone keep asking why her status has her dead last. We can't believe that every picture before us had that large a number of voters the first day. Besides, all the winner gets is a signed certificate from the Executive Editor. BIG DEAL! All because I refused to pay to have her entered in the cover contest and they automatically entered her into a contest I didn't consent to. What a SCAM!!!!!

Thanks for your last post, hopefully it will be an eye opener.
In the past, we have been crucified for speaking against these things. What people don't realize is that they are being taken for a scam and they tend to bring in more scapegoats with them. A regular user might say what's the big deal in making that one click; but if you are asking for our vote then you should be open for criticism as well as us pointing out the truth as well.
Nepali_dai, I don't blame you for starting it; we all love our kids and think they are the cutest. Point of our post was to expose the truth behind these campaigns. To me, it is an equivalent of Amway and Pixar, the difference is that you use time instead of money but the result is that you annoy a good number of friends in your own expense.
Your kid indeed is a cute kid and it doesn't need a website to establish that truth.
