Has anyone applied for adjustment of status from f1 status. It is from employer based application. Does it terminate your f1 status or would I still be able to maintain my f1 status while AOS is pending?

Until you receive the official decision u should be under the staus. Email the DHS with your case and ask them.

my understanding is , and of course i maybe wrong , that once you file for AOS and your case is pending then you're a green card applicant. you can even apply for work permit after certain time on the basis of pending gc application, and also apply for advance parole and leave the country and come back. At that point you do not have to maintain your f1 status. something to look into.
