while i don't understand the reason for the public protest, i believe that media-especially television- is quite responsible to stir agitation among indian public/viewers as they've been continually displaying the "kissing" scene from various angles, with pauses in-between, background music (pretty woman) and so on...hehe... well, looks like all they needed was some spicy news and they got it making mountain out of a molehill. :-)

Richard would hump Shilpa in a heart-beat if given a chance by observing his behavior. But the people who are protesting cannot digest the fact that this stud comes from seven seas away and almost sweeps her off her feet quite literally.
