i don't see any reason why OP is being critisized for posting a story. Gandi did write a letter to a man that is sexual in nature. please find the transcript on the letter somewhere and read it. you won't believe what's in it. and Indian government is trying to hide those letters from public.

becuse it shed some light about gandhi's lifestyle and his sexual orientation. in a place like india where homosexual are considered bad, this revelation could really help people change their mind about the homosexuality. plus facts should be hidden from public whether people can handle it or not.

his sexual orientation should not matter or be of any concern to anybody. Besides are these letters explicit and clear about him being gay? i do agree facts should not be hidden from public but that doesn't mean this explicitly proves anything otherwise as OPs subject states.

Well whether this is a fact or a fiction that is yet to be seen. The person who wrote them is not here to explain on what context those letters were written. Besides his ideology and his personal life are two different things. This does not disparage what he accomplished in his life.

I believe that as an educated individual we are far too smart to believe any such controversial facts especially when it has resurfaced 40 years after his birth. But then maybe it is true, maybe Gandhi was a bisexual and he did write few enamored letters to his supposed male lover, I am not denying it. But what I find absolutely offensive is the INTENT behind this post - to defame a great soul only because of our resentment towards India.
The original poster’s following comment was uncalled for, and I humbly implore him to do a little introspection before writing something as offensive as this –

Because statements like this doesn’t display our angst or the love for our nation. Instead, it makes us look immature, insecure and ignorant and such mentality would impede our emotional growth.
Has anyone ever thought how would we feel if an American calls Prithivi Narayan Shah a coward just because Pankaj Joshi ran off with million dollars or just because we Nepalese live illegally in America?
We all agree to disagree most of the times, and there are arguments, horseplay, criticism towards one another’s’ replies, but when such inane accusations without substantial root cause is posted in a public forum like this; I am inclined to believe that we severely lack the sense of civility.
As ambassadors to our great nation, and considering India did put us at the brink of disintegration, shouldn’t we think of a better way of retaliation than such unwarranted hoax?

If you look at the major relions of the world like Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, or Islam. People are not talking about who Sidhartha Gautam had sex with and when, or If Jesus actually had sex with Mary Magdalene, or who did Mohammed choose to take care of his bidness while crossing the desert. I still think ideologies and personal life are two seperate things.
Behoove me , pankaj joshi is not our father of nation. Prithivi narayan shah and pankaj joshi are complete two personality.
I respect Gandhi for his work but when it comes to nation part i hate him as indian hero. Why simply because i hate india. When i see gandi or any indian leader i remember RAW and their plans to destroy nepal so that they can make their own state!!
